Netherlands stocks higher at close of trade; AEX up 0.53%

Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.53%.

The best performers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which rose 4.78% or 30.30 points to trade at 664.50 at the close. Meanwhile, BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) added 2.78% or 2.80 points to end at 103.70 and Prosus (AS:PRX) was up 2.18% or 0.84 points to 39.34 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Relx PLC (AS:REL), which fell 1.25% or 0.56 points to trade at 44.36 at the close. Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) declined 1.21% or 1.95 points to end at 159.00 and Shell PLC (AS:SHEL) was down 0.74% or 0.23 points to 30.73.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 66 to 31 and 13 ended unchanged.

The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.

Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.85% or 1.31 to $69.36 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.79% or 1.33 to hit $73.12 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.92% or 24.80 to trade at $2,732.30 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 103.39.
