Greece stocks higher at close of trade; Athens General Composite up 0.34%

Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Banking sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.34%.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr), which rose 3.25% or 0.08 points to trade at 2.54 at the close. Meanwhile, Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 2.14% or 0.08 points to end at 3.87 and Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) was up 1.94% or 0.11 points to 5.78 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which fell 1.47% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.33 at the close. Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr) declined 1.11% or 0.02 points to end at 1.79 and Dimand Societe Anonyme for Real Estate Constructions (AT:DIMANDr) was down 0.96% or 0.09 points to 9.25.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 76 to 45 and 17 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.94% or 25.40 to $2,732.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.25% or 1.59 to hit $69.08 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.15% or 1.60 to trade at $72.85 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 103.39.
