Turkey stocks higher at close of trade; BIST 100 up 1.29%

Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Sports, Insurance and Tourism sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.29% to hit a new 1-month high.

The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Girisim Elektrik Taahhut Ticaret & Sanayi AS (IS:GESAN), which rose 7.95% or 3.60 points to trade at 48.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Fenerbahce Futbol AS (IS:FENER) added 6.01% or 5.95 points to end at 104.90 and Goltas Goller Bolgesi Cimento Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:GOLTS) was up 5.53% or 22.50 points to 429.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Reeder Teknoloji Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:REEDR), which fell 3.14% or 0.47 points to trade at 14.52 at the close. Altinay Savunma Teknolojileri AS (IS:ALTNY) declined 2.60% or 2.40 points to end at 90.00 and Turkiye Sinai Kalkinma Bankasi AS (IS:TSKB) was down 2.49% or 0.31 points to 12.16.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 438 to 129 and 13 ended unchanged.

Shares in Reeder Teknoloji Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:REEDR) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.14% or 0.47 to 14.52.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.42% or 10.85 to $2,575.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.92% or 0.63 to hit $69.06 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.84% or 0.61 to trade at $72.89 a barrel.

USD/TRY was unchanged 0.01% to 34.35, while EUR/TRY rose 0.24% to 36.41.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 106.43.
