Turkey stocks higher at close of trade; BIST 100 up 0.04%

Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Sports and Holdings & Investments sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.04%.

The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Papilon Savunma Guvenlik Sistemleri (IS:PAPIL), which rose 9.96% or 1.06 points to trade at 11.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Besiktas Futbol Yatirimlari Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BJKAS) added 6.46% or 0.27 points to end at 4.45 and Ard Grup Bilisim Teknolojileri AS (IS:ARDYZ) was up 5.96% or 2.24 points to 39.80 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Astor Enerji AS (IS:ASTOR), which fell 4.56% or 4.55 points to trade at 95.30 at the close. Limak Dogu Anadolu Cimento Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:LMKDC) declined 3.90% or 1.00 points to end at 24.64 and Smart Gunes Enerjisi Teknolojileri Arastirma Gelistirme Uretim Sanayi ve Ticaret (IS:SMRTG) was down 3.01% or 1.22 points to 39.26.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 349 to 208 and 20 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.70% or 18.56 to $2,664.86 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $68.82 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $72.35 a barrel.

USD/TRY was up 0.15% to 34.66, while EUR/TRY rose 0.37% to 36.54.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.66% at 106.27.
